Summary and call to action
The business model takes the demand side technology and lifting
pedagogy into two businesses. The first is the Bridge Program
designed to help student find the collee of their choice while also
being given an enhancement program in mathematics, English and the
humanities. The second is a community center like "Second School"
having a demand side learning center, coffee and tea shop and demand
side learning tools.
The two programs are to be integrated as a seamless opening of access
to
higher education for underserved student populations. A web
technology-based infrastructure will support recruitment and retention
goals. The University Studies Program is designed to be marketed
external from colleges and universities using a community center for
profit business with locations next to colleges and universities across
the nation.
One of the critical issues related to creating Lifting Pedagogy
products is that the quality of the professor must be very high, and if
a computer interface is used, the software has to be of a quality not
seen in any tutoring systems. Both of these issues is addressed
in the
business development plans.
Second School business plans must be long term in nature. The
reason is simple. The science indicates evidence that the
practice and underlying philosophy in American education places a
ceiling on the quality of education that may be delivered. As
second school products are introduced into the market, evidence that
the Lifting Pedagogy breaks down this ceiling will become part of a
revolution in education. At the same time, the technology used
should be developed as a show case for demand side information
technology.
