Use of Lifting Strategy Workship as CAAP preparation

  Wednesday,
Oct 29th, 2008

Dr Prueitt is providing a lifting strategy workshop for students in Room 201,Stone Hall next to the math lab, from noon - 1:30 each day.  MTWRF.  Student should show up at noon, 12:30 or 1.  The workshops are 30 mins in duration.

The Lifting Strategy helps the students make a topical cover over all of the topics in the curriculum in 125 and 126, and also 233.  A topic "cover" is a minimal set of topics that cover the entire curriculum and through which the student may present his or her complete knowledge of all of the two course curriculums.

see:

Examples of current students work in developing a blank paper presentation, (start with blank computer printer paper and recall the topics in the curriculum and then develop a presentation involving

(N,T,E) = (Notation, Theory, Examples).)

is available for review.

The lifting strategy studies for the CAAP, and other tests by focusing on the comprehension of the entire curriculum.

The demand side theory and the lifting strategy is discussed at

and complements the study of the CAAP type exams being presented in the mathematics lab.  The CAAP is for Junior level students, but most have not had 125 or 126 since their freshman years and need a refresher.

blessing and respects to each member of the general faculty
